Our mission is to empower people with the tools they need to "persu" their dreams.
WHAT WE DO
We create multi-functional products that can adapt and withstand your modern and active lifestyles. In a world where we're doing more things than ever before, we understand the need for lasting products and focus on creating accessories that can transition seamlessly from one activity to another. We design pieces that have classic, sleek forms that will stand the test of time and keep you organized and productive.
With a mission to help empower people to "persu" their dreams, we take it a step further and work to cultivate in-person connections and inspire people to step outside of their comfort zones and grow in positive and fulfilling ways through pop-up workshops.
In 2013, Stephanie Su, founder and designer of Persu Collection, was hauling her fitness gear from work to her dance and boxing classes, when she realized the need for a functional yet chic athletic bag – one that could hold all her fitness accessories, work essentials, and fit in at the office. With plenty of fashionable women’s fitness apparel lines to choose from, she was frustrated to find that her options for athletic bags were either: functional while looking like the “cargo pants of gym bags,” or stylish and impractical. With her passion for fashion and experience working for luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton, Stephanie went to work on designing a luxe athletic bag that had the sleek looks of a weekender, but the durability and functionality of a gear-heavy fitness equipment bag. After spending a year perfecting and testing her prototype, she launched the Tom bag and Jessica bag (named after her supportive parents) on Kickstarter on January 7, 2015. Forty-three days later, Persu Collection was officially funded on Kickstarter with $90,938, tripling its goal of $30,000.
Founder + Designer, Stephanie Su, is a Sacramento native, LA transplant, and a proud UCLA alumnus!
Today, Stephanie is continuing to follow her dreams and passions - creating products and experiences that she truly cares about. In 2015, she was selected as a finalist in the Sacramento Calling All Dreamers business competition and a finalist in pitching 4 investors: Ido Leffler, Randi Zuckerberg, Sarah Prevette, and Lauren Maillian on Oxygen. In 2016, Stephanie was accepted into the Downtown Los Angeles fashion tech accelerator GRID110, in partnership with Mayor Garcetti. A big supporter of female founders and collaboration, Stephanie was accepted in the 3rd Cohort of The F Project in August 2019.
In 2019, Stephanie created Persu Workshops & Experiences: a series of unique workshops and experiences created to inspire all womxn to step outside of their comfort zones and grow in positive and fulfilling ways, and support one another in a safe space. After trying a multitude of different workshops, training, and classes from self-defense to improv over the last decade to address her own issues of self-confidence, empowerment, and the need to constantly grow, Stephanie felt compelled to share the benefits of the workshops that worked for her with others. And, as a solo entrepreneur, Stephanie understands the struggle of running a business alone in addition to the benefits of being able to connect, support, and collaborate with other entrepreneurs - thus the idea for cultivating in-person connections through Persu Workshops & Experiences was born! Local workshops and experiences can be found here.
Throughout all the hustle and daily grind of this entrepreneurship journey, Stephanie continues to set aside nuggets of time to unwind, recharge, and stay active through her love of boxing, pole fitness, and constantly trying all kinds of new fitness classes in all the cities she travels to. She is XPERT Pole & Aerial Fitness Flexibility certified and a member of the Pole Dance community. As she continues the rollercoaster ride that is entrepreneurship, Stephanie shares her experiences and journey with her backers and customers on her blog and Instagram.
