I received some exciting news on Wednesday that I thought I would share! As mentioned in my last update, over the last month I've been working on a pitch for a business competition. I found out that I was one of 10 semi-finalists of the 2015 Sacramento Dreamers Contest!
Sacramento is my hometown and has shown me a tremendous amount of support during my Kickstarter campaign (THANK YOU!). When I found out about this competition from my sister, it sounded like a dream come true opportunity. I never knew about it before, but The Downtown Sacramento Partnership organization holds an annual "Calling All Dreamers" contest to give entrepreneurs a chance to open their very own storefront in the heart of Downtown Sacramento plus a full package (worth $100K!) to help launch your start-up. Over the next month I will be honing my business plan with the help of a SCORE counselor in hopes of making the next round of the competition. I'll keep you all updated on what happens! :)
In regards to production, my importer is set and the bags are still expected to arrive in May. The Sol bag is currently slated to finish on May 25th so arrival of the Sol is estimated to be end of June. Until inventory arrives and the official ecommerce shop opens on my website, you can still pre-order bags at discounted rates on here under the homepage and the "Shop" page.
And in the spirit of Flashback Friday and to celebrate the exciting news and the many memories I've had in Downtown Sacramento, here are some #FBF photos of my friends and I over the years in Downtown Sac! :D
